About Mia

Mia Getlin is an Oregon and Washington (inactive) business attorney focusing on the state-legal cannabis industry. Her practice ranges from licensing and compliance to mergers and acquisitions and outside general counsel services. 

In addition to serving the needs of a diverse set of clients, Mia works with the Cannabis Industry Alliance of Oregon, the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission, and the Oregon State legislature to achieve industry-friendly changes to statutes, administrative law, and policy. She also dedicates time to education, speaking at industry events, and providing continuing education presentations to other attorneys, scientists, accounting professionals, and medical professionals.
 

Mia got her start as a cannabis industry attorney assisting family members entering the OLCC market. Living with OLCC licensees, Mia knows firsthand the challenges and pitfalls facing the ever-changing cannabis industry and uses that knowledge and insight to balance her clients’ legal objectives with their business realities.

An honors graduate of UCLA and Pepperdine Law, Mia previously worked in public accounting at KPMG, where she provided internal control audit and advisory services to public companies, with a focus on the banking, automotive and retail clothing industries, and was a licensed CPA in California and Oregon.
